Oh how I've missed my nikes!

So in the past few long months my Nikes have taken an unfimiliar spot for them in the back of my closet, hiding in the shadows of all the other shoes and clothes! I can't explain why I've let them stay for so long, possibly it was a part of my subconscience of why I was even turned on to buying and using them in the first place that made me throw them back there and let them sit and collect dust for so long. Whatever the reason be, I can't help but think, since they caught my attention yesterday, that at one point in time, putting them on and hitting the pavement was all I really needed to relieve tension from my day to day life stresses. So why, at such a stressful time in my life would I take something so valueable and just toss it to the back of my closet like its broken or something? Sometimes I feel like its because I am broken, but nothing is beyond being repaired, even if you feel that way. All it takes is faith, it doesn't have to be anything more than just a little faith in yourself, and faith in your Lord, that he can fix any broken thing, not even temporary, but for good! So after all that, it didn't take much to convince me its time to pull those ol' Nike's out, and move on!

Thought for the day.

So the thought for the day yesterday happened to be "Be not a slave of your on past." This quote really caught my attention beacause most days due to such a small town I was born and raised in your past tends to follow you like a brand, making it almost impossible to not feel a slave to. The truth is, everyone has a past, everyone has baggage, and skeletons in their closets, and that is because we are all human. The problem isn't our past and or the mistakes we have made, its the fact that that is what all people use to make their very on perception of who you really are in their eyes, so the problem isn't our mistakes, its learning not to use them against each other, and that is def. A learning process because most of us have made it a habit to do, but its a bad habit to have and it doesn't give us or anybody else room to have a better future. So if we can learn to not judge a book by its cover or what the pages of their past tells you, you leave the road wide open for better opportunities in the future! So I'm going to stop being a slave of my past, so I can be a leader into my future and do the same with others!

Life is a journey, nothing is guaranteed, tomorrow is never promised, and this moment is all we really have. When it all comes down to it, there are going to be things you regret you did, things you wouldn't take back for the world, and people you met that you wouldn't trade anything for, and then again people you met that you wish you never did. Life is what you make it, and the best thing we can do for ourselves is to make it with love. Its a hard lesson to learn, to love other people the way you want to be loved, but once you get the hang of it, it doesn't always become easier but you know what your suppose to do.
